Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I would be moving to a foreign country to live, let alone a country in the Middle East. Over the 2009 Christmas and New Year’s holidays, my husband Roger and I discussed what we wanted the next part of our life to be like. He thought that before retiring, he would like to do one more airport project but only if he could find something very interesting. I half-jokingly agreed that would be fine but could he try for an exotic location? As usual, Roger came through and soon we were headed to Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. This blog is a recap of our "leap-of- faith" wanderings around the Middle East and beyond. We joyfully share these expat experiences.

SoBabyBoomer tells us that Jane Fonda was asked, "One theme of your life is gutsiness, which I guess is why you devoted almost 50 pages of this book to sex advice? she replied, "I have never found a book that talks about everything from the psyche and spirit and wisdom to penile implants."

The Accidental Locavore tries out Whole Foods' 5-step program for chicken and has to serve her guests  #2 chicken. What does that mean?

Vaboomer ponders, Is the Coyote nature's perfection?

The Boomer Chronicle is going Bigfoot hunting.

Like lots of boomers, Sightings is getting more and more concerned about the state of our economy and how it affects our incomes, our investments, our future. Since nobody these days seems to have any answers, he turns to the preeminent economist of the last century and wonders: What Would Keynes Do?

Over at Contemporary Retirement, Ann asks: What's your retirement style? Activist, Individualist, Specialist or Traditionalist?

Do you generally feel different than most of the people you meet? Or do you have lots in common? Your perspective on this question may determine how you approach love. See what the Midlife Crisis Queen has to say about an attitude adjustment.

The idea of moving to a foreign city may seem exciting but the mundane everyday tasks to settle in can be catastrophic. Get a feel for the challenge in 8 Tips to Survive your Move to Dubai.
